BONNE ANNÉE ! / HAPPY NEW YEAR !

BONNE ANNÉE 2016 !!! :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016 !!! :)
« This year, winter is mild » tell me the inhabitants of Saskatoon. Temperatures swing around -20°C with a windshield of -30°C. I don’t know what’s mild in there…! Anyway, going out of the house remains a great challenge. You’ll need to wear a big arctic expedition parka with a hat made of snow hare hair.
Speaking of, the animal of the neighborhood is an enormous rabbit (bigger than a chihuahua!) that I ran unto on Christmas Eve during a night expedition around the house! Impressive! After the 10kg turkey (without exaggerating!), the Were-Rabbit!

The missionary rythme is slower since many went away on vacation and I have to admit that Saskatoon is not a big Canadian megacity therefore activities are limited (but wait to see the next video!).
However, I had the chance to meet the responsible persons of « Face to Face »; a great movement organizing events for young people so that they may personally encounter Christ. The goal is to make them become missionaries themselves. (Make/Mold/Mission))
I also participated to a street evangelization (in the cold) with the Emmanuel Community.
We were giving away candy canes with Words of the Bible attached to them. Our mission stopped one hour after because of the frozen-bites that started to show up. So we told ourselves : « We could go inside to warm up with a hot chocolate ». While we were wondering where to go, a woman opens the door of a mall - closed in this holiday Sunday - and asks us :  « Do you want to come inside our shop? We are going to make hot chocolate! » And this is how the mission goes on! I call this « God’s wink! »

I had the chance to see Father Brice Petitjean (parish priest of St Thomas of Aquinas in Quebec City) in Saskatoon and he got an amazing idea : go through the Holy Doors of the extraordinary jubilee of mercy in each town that I visit along the road. I say YES!
