La Grande Aventure / The Great Adventure

Comment?
Eh bien… En stop!
Au total : 6 voitures pour 8 heures de route!
Merci à Daniel, Simon, Ben et Monique, Anne et Ross, Yuki et Masato, Rob!

Vive l’Aventure avec un grand « A » !!!

How lucky I am to meet so many wonderful people on my road!
I spent around 10 days working in a farm in the middle of the mountains on the West Coast, in Maruia. I principally helped Janine with horses. I had this privilege to help to break in a horse! It was very interesting for me, the horse passionate!
I also met Sandi and Mike who brought me to see a very particular community : Gloriavale Christian Community. It was fascinating to see this community live together, sharing everything, without any distinction of responsibility, wearing the same uniform… This self-sufficient village totally relies on Divine Providence and can even help those in need.

Then I hit the road, following the wind, without any plans.

Here is how the people I met got me until there :

Sandi’s sister kind welcomed me in her beautiful house for the night in Hokitika. At breakfast, I had a spectacular vue : infinite ocean.
Her neighbor, Lin, brought me in the city centre for my very first time hitch-hiking in New-Zealand.
Only 5 minutes with my thumb up and Paul takes me to Franz Josef Glacier.
Once in Franz Josef, a couple accepts to host me for the night in exchange of some cleaning work.
I go to see the glacier and there I meet Marius, Tobe and Lara who offered me to join them in their trip to the south.
Yes!
The day after, we drive to Wanaka! Superb! Again, lots of encounters in the backpackers and… lots of music! Loved it!
In the morning, I meet two Germans - Max and Mario - who offer me to bring me to Queenstown.
In Queenstown I met Jennifer, an American girl with whom I spent the evening talking about travels, projects, life.
The day after, I go to Milford Sound. I leave the pictures speak for themselves. Won-der-ful!
Then it’s time to go back to Christchurch!
How?
Well… Hitch-hiking!
In total : 6 cars for 8 hours on the road!
Thank to Daniel, Simon, Ben and Monique, Anne and Ross, Yuki and Masato, Rob!

What an Adventure with a big « A »!
